Competitive cycling in Sunraysia goes back more than a century. At one time there was a cycling club in every town in the district.
After the dismantling of the cycling track at Mildura's Number One oval, cycling suffered a downturn in interest. The Mildura Cycling Club, however, remained alive and in the early 1980's Club officials linked the Club to the Coomealla Sporting Club. This link with the NSW licensed Memorial Club remains to this day with the name "Mildura" added recognising the history of cycling in the district. Mildura's competitive cyclists regularly compete in CSA Open events and maintain a cordial racing relationship with their closest sister Club, the Riverland Cycling Club.
