A big night of PBs

Mildura-Coomealla Cycling Club staged a 16 km individual time trial on its Riverside circuit on the evening of Tuesday 8 December 2009. Thirty two riders lined up for the Club's second Personal Best (PB) time trial event of the season. Both senior and junior riders would compete over the 2 lap distance.

Riders are awarded an extra 3 points if they improved upon their personal best time for the distance. While the temperature was a comfortable 22 degrees, the 26 kph south westerly breeze was not a welcome site for riders out to achieve personal best times.

Incredibly, despite the gusty conditions, sixteen personal best times were set -

• Andrew Ryan (by 55 seconds)
• Taryn Heather (by 21 seconds)
• Barry Pollock (by 1 second)
• Rachel Hanlin (by 1:51 minutes)
• Ben Athorn (by 16 seconds)
• Michael Allford (by 19 seconds)
• Thomas Henderson (by 1:16 minutes)
• Ryan Clifford (by 29 seconds)
• Tom Allford (by 9 seconds)
• Brodie Athorn (by 22 seconds)
• James Burge (by 3 seconds)
• Bevan Henderson (by 49 seconds)
• Martin Ryan (by 11 seconds)

The next race will be a graded handicap race to be held on the Millewa/Coorong circuit on Sunday 13 December. Rob Akkermans and Ian Beruldsen are on set-up duty.
